Nicolina's Wishes, a non-profit organization based in Beaver County, is pleased to introduce a new and valuable service for families and caregivers who are raising children with mental health and behavior challenges. Our Parent Peer Specialist (PPS) program emphasizes the vital role that caregivers play as the primary support system in the lives of these children. Our highly trained PPS staff members have personal experience as parents or caregivers who have successfully navigated similar challenges, and they are ready to provide additional support to families who could benefit from their expertise.
At Nicolina's Wishes, our PPS staff members actively engage with families, collaborating closely to identify their unique strengths, establish achievable goals, and develop strategies to reach those goals. The ultimate outcome of our program is the promotion of positive outcomes for both caregivers and youth. Our organization is committed to assisting families by adopting an positive approach that involves "Doing For, Doing With, and Cheering On!" We invite you to learn more about the specific activities carried out by our PPS staff members below.
